The famous mango tree within the Ekambareswarar Temple. This tree is said to be about 3,500 years old. (This picture was taken two/three years back. More recent pics of this tree show that the tree is no longer standing.) Here is where Lord Shiva, as Ekambaranathar appeared before Parvathi. Yup struck down by lightning during these rains they tell me. I never belived it was 3000 years old but anyway :-)
