Sathish: Yes. You just have to take permission from the manager. Churches, I find, are quite photographer friendly.
Tirunelveli and the surrounding areas is a great place. It also puts you within a day's travel (to and fro) of Kanyakumari, Tiruchendur, Madurai... Have a great time.
