Last week the Narasimhar `Utsavam' (festival) was conducted at the Parthasarathy Temple at Triplicane. Early in the morning women decorate the four streets surrounding the temple with kolam on the day of the `Garuda sevai' when the deity is taken out in a procession on Garuda vahanam. Posted by Picasa

Balaji - it is so strnge , I ahve never actually watched any of these religious processions in Madras but I was in Spain for the Holy Week.


Similiar processions with people carrying "god', only these were floats and you could'nt see the bearers. If you looked carefully you could see the booots underneath marching in succession.


I am sure you would have captured that phenomenonally with a camera. I can only make a poor attempt with words.
