Balaji,

Is "Kirk" a separate English word? Or is it Scottish English for Church? Or is it not actually a word, only ppl call it "kirk"?

It's on Poonamallee High Road, diagonally across the road from Dina Thanthi office or just across the road from the Traffic Deputy Commissioner's office. You can see it from the Gandhi Irwing bridge, from the Egmore railway station side also.

Terrywhatlee: I think it is Scottish.
Tilotamma: You would have probably seen it but not known the name -- you could not have missed the unique dome roof if you have travelled anywhere near Egmore Station.

Beautiful picture Balaji, looks like a beautiful church.

Terrywhatlee - Dutch call churches Kirk as well. I therefore presume its old English, as the current spoken Dutch is apparently very close to the old English

Thank You, WA. It is a beautiful church - must try to get permission to take pics inside. It has some lovely tinted glass work and the wood work is great.
