The Naya Paisa. `Naya' meaning new to mark the shift to the decimal system so people will not confuse it with the earlier pice. The coins were a little larger than a shirt button, about the size of a thumbnail. Posted by Picasa

Hi, I asked because, in case you did not know (and if you still want to collect), you can get your folks here to start a philatelic account at the Anna Salai HPO. Then the post man delivers the material, stamps, FDCs or cards... to your house. You only have to keep topping up the account.
