This was how he was being treated. It is sad when you visit places of such value and you see the neglect.

It is indeed sad to see the neglect of places of such historical importance.
I am quite interested in history and had travelled to Mahabalipuram and Kanchi a few years ago.
Whenever I see a historical monument, what catches my imagination (apart from the artistic beauty) is how they have withstood the tests of time.
I used to gaze at them wondering what it would have taken to build them in those days.
Watching the waves with the bright blue sky as the backdrop at the shore temple in Mahabalipuram is an experience in itself.
I came across your blog when I was browsing Ramnath's site. Will keep reading your updates (the pics are nice), as i am quite interested in history, ancient monuments and places of historical significance.
