R. Balaji said...: Yes. Such tanks in cities and villages were part of a system to conserve water. But over the years with encroachments and lack of maintenance the system has fallen apart. Now there are efforts to restore rain water systems.; Sat Sep 17, 09:31:00 PM 2005
